Local patient completes IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene following six knee surgeries
July 01, 2014
KREM News Director Noah Cooper has been an avid athlete throughout his life and began seeing Dr. Kody for knee issues in high school.
A Gonzaga Prep alum, Cooper suffered from three ACL tears, two meniscus tears, and a microfracture over the course of his life. Fortunately, following six surgeries with Dr. Michael H. Kody at Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists, he has been able to sustain the active, competitive lifestyle he enjoys.
On June 29, 2014, Cooper completed the IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene, competing in honor of Washington State University alum and New Orleans Saints retiree Steve Gleason, who has ALS. Cooper accepted the IRONMAN challenge and sponsored a fundraiser on behalf of Team Gleason, a charity that raises money for ALS research.
Cooper recently surprised Dr. Kody and the Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists staff with a visit to the office to thank them for their dedication and expertise throughout his treatment. He also presented Dr. Kody with the collage below.
